fcubic c50 layered manufacturing equipment
The fcubic c50 is an automatic manufacturing equipment for metallic parts. The equipment is best suited for manufacturing of small parts. The parts can be used for different applications, MIM or PIM types of parts, dental parts, implants and other small parts. The resolution of the system is approximately 35 microns in x,y and z.
The machine is suitable to
build small and complex parts. We are currently focusing on
stainless steel (316L) but other materials like titanium or
tool steels are possible.
The geometry is transferred from a 3D CAD system to the
machine via a standard STL file. The build is then prepared
in a special software and transferred to the machine via a
CD, USB-stick or by the local network. The machine is then
started and build the parts. The actual part creation is
done in post heat treatment where a development process
take place. After the final step a fully dense part is
obtained, without infiltration.
The process is fast for small parts. The graph below shows
the time needed to make one small part that is
approximately 10 mm high. With our new and more optimised
electronic that is in development we will cut the time from
50 seconds down to 10 seconds. And with our larger machine
this will be further decreased to around 1 second per part.
With this speed we are competing with injection moulding as
a production process. The advantages are even bigger if you
consider that there is no expensive tools required and that
you can make very complex parts not possible with other
processes.
